Ivonne Atmojo, a multi-talented yet down-to-earth vocal & piano teacher, graduated with a master of music degree from San Francisco Conservatory of Music, California, USA. Oddly enough, she majored in Biochemistry and Music Performance during her undergraduate study in University of Wisconsin - Madison, USA, and managed to graduate with a double degree, both with high distinction. In her spare time, she experimented with arranging and composition, and her film-score compositions were nominated in the Wisconsin Film Festival in 2002.
She had done various solo recitals and collaborative concerts throughout the US, Europe, and Asia. Her passion in teaching music has landed her many invitations to give lecture demonstration in several music institutions in South East Asia, including the Academy of Performing Arts in Hong Kong.
Ivonne came back to Indonesia in 2005 and has been a part-time music lecturer in Universitas Pelita Harapan since then. In early 2006, she held the position of Dean of Music in Institut Musik Daya. Currently, she also serves as the music director and conductor of JICC (Jakarta International Community Choir). Still, her private students at home keep her busy and alive all week long. Dedicated to music education, she loves to share her knowledge and experience through music pedagogy seminars, and is often invited to judge various music competitions. With her keen personality and humble charm, she befriends all her students.
In her Java Jazz concert debut two months ago, she performed different genres of songs with her lovely students as well as fellow teachers. The live recording from this concert has just been uploaded to her website, www.ivonneatmojo.com.
Ivonne just came back from her performance in Carnegie Hall, New York on April 2007, as part of the winners' concert of an international music competition in Italy last year.
Currently, she is having much fun working on PASSENGERS THE MUSICAL, a musical production that will be staged on June 2nd, 2007 in Usmar Ismail Hall. For more information, go to www.passengersthemusical.com.
